Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Are Set To Take Over Rush Limbaugh Show
The “Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show” is set to begin airing during Rush’s old time slot beginning on June 21st in many markets across the country.
Since the passing of the 70-year-old conservative talk-radio icon and pioneer of right-wing media Rush Limbaugh last February, there has been a major void to fill on the airways in the coveted 12pm - 3pm ET time slot. That void will now be filled by duo Clay Travis and Buck Sexton.
The Rush Limbaugh show ran for more than three decades and was the most listened to radio show in the United States.
Both shared the breaking new on their Twitter accounts.
“The duo will serve up similar right-wing fare, tackling news stories of the day, politics and current events, peppered with call-ins from listeners and humor,” the Journal reported.
“We’re not going to replace Rush Limbaugh, we’re going to have an evolution of the show with fresh voices – those that grew up on Rush and admired him,” president of iHeart Media’s Premiere Networks Julie Talbott said, according to the Journal.
Old segments of the Rush Limbaugh Show and the occasional guest host were pulling in about 75% to 80% of its regular audience, the Journal reported.
Clay Travis is the founder of the conservative-sports outlet Outkick which was recently purchased by Fox News.
Buck Sexton is a former CIA intelligence officer, now conservative commentator. He has a nightly show on the platform ‘The First.’
Clay Travis rose to fame after a notorious CNN interview where then CNN-host Brooke Baldwin seemed to take major offense to a light-hearted joke by Travis. The video was shared by conservative commentator Brigitte Gabriel.
