Senator Rand Paul confronted Dr. Rachel Levine on Thursday during a Senate hearing regarding permanent transgender treatments being done on young children.
Dr. Rachel Levine was nominated by Biden to be the assistant secretary for health at the Department of Health and Human Services, a role that typically oversees the agency's public health initiatives.
Levine, a pediatrician, previously served as the secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health. During Paul’s questioning his focus primarily remained on controversial treatments for transgender youth.

Senator Paul was instantly blasted on social media and cable television as being ‘transphobic’ for even asking the questions.
It is important to note that Senator Rand Paul is also a Doctor with medical training from Duke University.
