REPORT: Aaron Rodgers could threaten to boycott Super Bowl over COVID restrictions, QB denies reports
A report from retired NFL QB and current journalist Boomer Esiason claims Aaron Rodgers would boycott the Super Bowl over COVID testing requirements, Rogers has denied and even mocked the reports.
MVP Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has rocked the NFL world this season over his strong stance against COVID alarmism and mandating vaccinations. To the chagrin of liberal sports journalists Rodgers has remained unvaccinated throughout the entire NFL season.
Now reports have surfaced claiming the disgruntled star might consider threatening to sit out the Super Bowl (if they make it that far) over the COVID protocol.
“Boomer Esiason received a text from a trusted source which indicates that Aaron Rodgers will threaten to boycott the Super Bowl, should the Packers make it that far,” a sports talk show aggregator account Funhouse tweeted.
Rogers immediately denied and even mocked the claims that he would boycott the Super Bowl over COVID testing requirements.
“He’s told Jordan Love to be ready” the 38-year-old athlete tweeted.
“Rodgers has laughed off this report, which may have been a hoax,” NBC Sports reported in an update to its original story.
Regardless of Rodgers denying the reports, that did not stop conservative social media from celebrating the idea of Rogers taking a stance against medical tyranny on the world’s largest stage. The theoretical boycott would likely spark a national conversation on COVID restrictions.
While it’s unlikely that Rodgers would actually boycott the Super Bowl, it would drive the sport’s world into a frenzy and give NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell a PR nightmare.
