Jon Gruden sues the NFL over leaked emails
He was forced out of his job over politically incorrect comments he made in private emails years ago.
Former NFL coach Jon Gruden is suing the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell.
“Through a malicious and orchestrated campaign, the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell sought to destroy the career and reputation of Jon Gruden, the former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. The full lawsuit can be found here.
“Defendants held the emails for months until they were leaked to the national media in the middle of the Raiders’ season in order to cause maximum damage to Gruden,” the lawsuit says.
The NFL called the lawsuit “meritless.”
“The allegations are entirely meritless and the NFL will vigorously defend against these claims,” a spokesperson told the Las Vegas paper.
