“We have no record” of Biden's application, Idaho company denies Biden’s claim that they offered him a job
President Biden has a significant history of saying things that are not true.
President Joe Biden, who has sought to portray himself as a blue-collar, down-to-earth guy, recently claimed that he was offered a job decades ago at a lumber company.
But the company has no record of such a job offer -- and Biden has never apparently mentioned the job offer before.
"I used to tell [former Idaho Senator] Frank Church this, I got a — my first job offer, where I wanted — my wife, deceased wife and I, wanted to move to Idaho because we — not a joke — it's such a beautiful, beautiful state. And I interviewed for a job at Boise Cascade,” Biden said recently.
“We have no record of President Biden's application or of him having worked for the company,” the company said in a statement. “We checked our system internally, and nothing has turned up.”
It noted that it possibly had lost documents as part of projects it no longer works on.
Biden has a history of making demonstrably false statements.
He also plagiarized a speech in 1987.
“Character does not change. Biden’s winning smile and genial nature have granted him license to mislead,” Liz Peek wrote in May 2020. “But as Biden denies alleged misdeeds related to General Flynn, to his son Hunter’s involvement in Ukraine or to Tara Reade, his history of bending the truth is informative.”
