US Judge blocks Pentagon from punishing SEALs who don’t take COVID-19 vaccine

The temporary injunction is another setback for the Biden Administration, who is trying to get as many Americans vaccinated for COVID, even through government mandates.

Reed O’Conner, who is a federal judge, reminded the Biden administration that the First Amendment applies to our brave Navy SEALs. O’Conner granted a temporary injunction blocking punishments against the SEALs for not taking the COVID vaccine.

O’Conner wrote in his 26 page decision that, "the Navy servicemembers in this case seek to vindicate the very freedoms they have sacrificed so much to protect. The COVID-19 pandemic provides the government no license to abrogate those freedoms.”

The First Liberty Institute declared the ruling as a victory.

"Forcing a service member to choose between their faith and serving their country is abhorrent to the Constitution and America’s values," said Mike Berry (First Liberty Institute General Counsel).

Fox News covered the initial lawsuit:

“Judge Reed O'Connor, the U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Texas, issued the stay in response to a lawsuit filed by First Liberty Institute in November on behalf of 35 active-duty SEALs and three reservists seeking a religious exemption, as first reported by Fox News Digital.”

Many Christians have claimed to have religious objections to the vaccines and their cases are currently playing out in the courts. Only time will tell how all the rulings play out in the end.
