Speaker Pelosi REJECTS Reps Jim Jordan and Jim Banks from Jan 6th Committee, McCarthy pulls all nominees in response

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected two of McCarthy's five recommendations, Reps. Jim Banks of Indiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio, both staunch defenders of President Donald Trump.

In response to Pelosi’s rejections, McCarthy put out a statement Wednesday threatening that GOP would pursue its own investigation.

"Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken the unprecedented step of denying the minority party’s picks for the Select Committee on January 6. This represents an egregious abuse of power and will irreparably damage this institution. Denying the voices of members who have served in the military and law enforcement, as well as leaders of standing committees, has made it undeniable that this panel has lost all legitimacy and credibility and shows the Speaker is more interested in playing politics than seeking the truth. Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts."

-Rep Kevin McCarthy, Minority House Leader

Below is the official statement from Pelosi’s office for their unprecedented decision to reject suggestions from House Minority Leader, Representative Kevin McCarthy (CA).

Banks and Jordan both voted against certifying the 2020 election results on Jan. 6 and Pelosi bizarrely claimed that their appointments could impact "the integrity of the investigation."

Conservative journalist Mollie Hemingway tweeted out a statement from Rep Jim Banks condemning the Speaker’s actions as divisive, even calling Pelosi the, “most partisan figure in America today.”

“The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision," Pelosi said in her pathetic statement.

Rep Jim Jordan called the January 6th committee, “nothing more than a partisan political charade.”

Do you think the January 6th select committee is a partisan sham? Should Speaker Pelosi be removed from office? Do you stand with Jim Jordan? Comment your thoughts below!
