Sean Penn says 'cowardly genes' cause men to cross-dress, says US men are feminized
The comments are surprising coming from an avowed leftist, but actor Sean Penn doubled down on his comments after making them.
Actor Sean Penn said “cowardly genes” leads men to crossdress and wear skirts.
“There are a lot of, I think, cowardly genes that lead to people surrendering their jeans and putting on a skirt,” Penn said recently.
Penn, 61, did the interview ahead of the U.K. release of his new film, ''Flag Day.''
Penn also criticized the idea that men need to be like women in order to treat them well.
''I have these very strong women in my life who do not take masculinity as a sign of oppression toward them,'' Penn said.
“I don't think that being a brute or having insensitivity or disrespect for women is anything to do with masculinity, or ever did,'' Penn addded. ''But I don't think that [in order] to be fair to women, we should become them.''
Conservative commentator and President Trump’s favorite author Nick Adams praised Penn for his comments.
"America needs more Alpha Males! I never thought I would say this, but Sean Penn is 100% right!,” Adams said.
The two-time Academy Award winner had previously said that he was ''in the club that believes that men in American culture have become wildly feminized.'' The comments are unexpected coming from the star who has previously shared left-wing positions publicly.
