REPORT: US Government preparing for a potential 400K migrants to cross border this month
President Joe Biden has kept in place President Trump’s enforcement of Title 42 of federal immigration law.
President Donald Trump smartly used Title 42, which allows for swift deportation of illegal migrants who pose a threat to public health.
It was so successful, particularly in helping slow the spread of COVID from infected illegal migrants, that even President Biden has continued the policy. That’s showing up in polls now.
And it’s a good thing -- because there are 400,000 migrants waiting to flood our country indefinitely if the order is lifted.
“In a call this week with senior Department of Homeland Security officials, Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas asked whether the department was prepared for a worst-case scenario in which 350,000 to 400,000 migrants cross the border in October, according to two DHS officials familiar with the conversation,” NBC News reported.
The question came before a federal judge sided with the Biden administration’s attempt to keep in place Trump’s policy.
“A number that high would nearly double the 21-year record reached in July, when more than 210,000 migrants crossed the border,” NBC News noted.
It’s time for President Biden to continue to enforce Trump’s immigration policies if he wants to stop our country from being overrun by migrants.
