President Trump Releases Statement Urging Herschel Walker to Run for GA Senate
The former president gave his support to former NFL running back Herschel Walker, a backer of Trump.
Former NFL star running back Herschel Walker is being urged to run for a Senate seat in Georgia in 2022 by former President Donald Trump.
“Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the legendary Herschel Walker ran for the United States Senate in Georgia,” Trump said in a statement.
“He would be unstoppable,” Trump said. “Run Herschel, run!”
Walker would most likely face off against incumbent Democratic Senator Ralphael Warnock who won a special election in 2020.
Walker has been a strong ally for President Trump and has helped rally support for him in 2016 and 2020.
Many leftists would likely object to a black man running for the Senate as a conservative Republicans. Walker would likely draw support for black Democrats who will be turned off by Warnock’s radical leftist agenda, including his support for job-killing regulations and higher taxes. Warnock has also faced criticism for supporting anti-Semites.
“Back in 2013, Georgia senatorial candidate Rev. Raphael Warnock praised Louis Farrakhan, the anti-Semitic leader of the Nation of Islam,” Townhall reported in December 2020.
