POLL: Democrats Like Liz Cheney More Than Republicans
The anti-Trump Congresswoman is liked by Democrats, but not within her own party, according to recent polling data.
Congresswoman Liz Cheney is facing a tough re-election battle in 2022, after deciding to focus on bashing Trump.
While the move has likely made her a favorite on MSNBC and CNN, the core of the Republican Party are turned off by her criticism of the popular former president.
“Cheney is nearly three times more popular among Democratic voters than Republican voters, according to a recent poll,” Newsweek reported.
“While only 15 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning voters view Cheney favorably, 42 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters view her favorably,” Newsweek said.
The results, from Politico and Morning Consult, concluded that “while 53 percent of Republican voters view Cheney unfavorably, only 22 percent of Democrats view her unfavorably,” according to Newsweek.
Republican firebrands Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz, both loyal Trump supporters who support conservative values, are more popular than Cheney.
