New York City Mistakenly Includes 135,000 “Test Ballots” in its Election Results

This massive error is bad news for the leftist and media narrative that every election is run 100% perfectly and anyone who claims otherwise is an enemy of democracy.

New York City officials have botched the Democratic mayoral primary election, raising questions about election security that the 2020 election brought to light.

“The Democratic primary for mayor of New York City was thrown into a state of confusion Tuesday when election officials retracted their latest report on the vote count after realizing it had been corrupted by test data never cleared from a computer system,” the Associated Press reported.

“That data had indicated that Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, a former police captain who would be the city’s second Black mayor, had lost much of his lead and was ahead of former sanitation commissioner Kathryn Garcia by fewer than 16,000 votes,” the AP reported.

“Just before 10:30 p.m. it released a statement saying that 135,000 ballot images it had put into its computer system for testing purposes had never been cleared,” the news wire company said.

Despite the fact that Adams could have been harmed if no one caught the mistake, the candidate criticized President Trump for raising the issue of election security.

“As always, Trump gets it wrong,” Adams said.  “Yesterday, the results released by the BOE had discrepancies which are being addressed. There were NO similar issues in November. Neither of these elections were a hoax or a scam.”

Curiously, Adams implicitly has agreed with Trump before -- the former police officer ran on a record of law-and-order, much like the former New York resident did in 2016 and 2020.
