WATCH: Matt Gaetz Calls for a Vote on House GOP Leadership Over Liz Cheney Impeachment Vote
While interviewing on Tucker Carlson Thursday evening, Congressman Matt Gaetz called for a vote on House GOP Leadership over Rep. Liz Cheney’s recent vote in favor of impeaching former President Trump.
The Congressman from Florida painted a bleak image for the future of the Republican Party stating that, “Inside the beltway of Washington D.C., the establishment has concentrated their power and now they want to be able to reconstitute the Republican Party in their image.”
Gaetz said he believed conservatives needed to take the fight to, “their home turf. We need to go out into the country. We need to inspire a positive populism and stand against these America-last politicians.”

Gaetz even mocked Cheney for her low approval numbers adding that he, “saw a poll that came out yesterday that had Liz Cheney at 10% approval rating with Republicans in her own state. By contrast, moammar Gadhafi had a 13% approval rating in his final days and so it’s a bit irannic Liz Cheney is less popular among Republicans than the Arab dictators that she wants to throw out of office.”
