Liz Cheney embarrassed by Trump-backed challenger in Wyoming GOP straw poll
The poll is bad news for the Never-Trump Congresswoman’s floundering re-election bid.
Representative Liz Cheney lost big in a recent straw poll of Wyoming GOP activists, in a possible sign of bad things to come for the pro-impeachment “Republican” and daughter of ex-VP Dick Cheney.
“Harriet Hageman, the Donald Trump-endorsed candidate seeking to unseat Rep. Liz Cheney, won big Saturday in a straw poll of House candidates held by the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee,” the Casper Star Tribune reported.
While not a scientific poll, it is a good indication of who local Republican leaders are supporting.
While she has campaigned as a conservative, Cheney often goes on mainstream TV networks to bash her own party while promoting the anti-Trump agenda of the sham January 6th commission she serves on.
It’s more bad news from Wyoming for Cheney, who is no longer even recognized as a Republican by party leaders in her state.
