Ex-Police Officer Kim Potter Found Guilty for Death Of Daunte Wright, Twitter Reacts
The Minnesota cop claims she meant to use her taser to stop the violent Wright. Potter even shouted out “taser taser taser” before firing.
Kim Potter has been found guilty in the death of violent Daunte Wright after she accidentally shot him with her gun. He then sped away and crashed his car.
The Daily Wire reported:
During her testimony, she broke down multiple times expressing remorse for what happened on April 11 when she fatally shot Wright, a 20-year-old black man. Potter shot Wright while attempting to tase the young man as he struggled with and attempted to flee police.
Potter’s defense team has never contested that she mistakenly pulled her gun when she meant to pull her taser, and that that mistake led to Wright’s death. Instead, the defense has painted a sympathetic picture of a person stuck in a chaotic and dangerous situation where split-second decisions had to be made.
Potter was found guilty on charges for First and Second Degree Manslaughter.
Many criticized the decision on social media as well:
NYT Best-Selling Author Brigitte Gabriel said Potter did not, “receive justice.”
President Trump’s favorite author, Nick Adams, called it a “terrible verdict.”
Conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza said the verdict was ridiculous and clarified that, “An accident, however tragic, is not a crime.”
Journalist Jack Posobiec pointed out how Hollywood has-been Alec Baldwin has not yet been charged in his shooting that was also reportedly an accident.
