Country Music Television tells Viewers to Wear Orange to Promote Gun Control
CMT has chosen to promote Mike Bloomberg-backed Everytown for Gun Safety’s “wear orange” campaign to protest gun rights.
While most Americans don’t think of left-wing gun control activism when they think of country music, management at CMT seemingly does.
In recognition of “National Gun Violence Awareness Day,” CMT is encouraging people to wear orange.
Many have noted that the claim of 100 Americans being killed by gun violence every day is misleading, as the statistic combines suicides and homocides into one number.
It’s unclear what wearing orange will accomplish to stop gun violence in places like Chicago, where over 50 people were shot last weekend.
