Caitlyn Jenner announces run for California governor as Republican
Caitlyn Jenner announced a run in a pending recall election against California Governor Gavin Newsom.
“Reality television star Caitlyn Jenner announced plans Friday to run for governor of California,” Fox News reported.
"I’m in! California is worth fighting for," the reality star and Olympic champion tweeted.
“California has been my home for nearly 50 years,” Jenner said on the campaign website.
“I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality,” Jenner said.
“But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.”
Jenner has reportedly hired a number of former Trump aides and top Republican officials to advise the campaign.
