Biden White House: We Want Low Gas Prices, But “Climate Crisis Can’t Wait”
The White House continues to be tone-deaf to the needs of millions of Americans who need gas to drive their cars and run their businesses.
Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that the crushingly high gas prices are bad but it’s what is needed to fight climate change. Her response is typical of many of the Beltway elites who don’t regularly drive or get reimbursed for work travel if they do.
“Certainly, we all want to keep gasoline prices low, but the threat of the crisis — the climate crisis — certainly can’t wait any longer,” Psaki said, in response to the record-high gas prices paid at the pump and for natural gas.
The White House plans to continue to sit on its hands.
“The White House does not currently plan to take action to alleviate gas prices that have surged to seven-year highs in recent days, deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Thursday,” Fox Business reported.
“Energy production has trailed behind rising demand for petroleum products in recent days as the U.S. economy and other nations recover from the COVID-19 pandemic,” Fox Business reported. “Supply shortfalls have prompted speculation that crude oil prices could reach $100 per barrel in the coming weeks.”
