Biden team conducting research on Tucker Carlson as potential 2024 candidate
Biden’s campaign staff has reportedly added Carlson to a list of potential candidates that Biden must prepare to face in 2024.
President Joe Biden’s campaign team has included Fox News host Tucker Carlson as a potential candidate in the 2024 presidential race.
“Politico and The Hill reported Tuesday that the Democrat National Committee is already at work investigating more than 20 possible Republican candidates,” Breitbart reported, “from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley to Fox News host Tucker Carlson and My Pillow founder Mike Lindell.”
The addition of Carlson shows that the Biden team is concerned about the popularity of the Fox News host. While a candidacy from Carlson would likely mean he would have to give up his Fox News show, his popularity and name recognition among conservatives could give him an advantage.
Furthermore, many of Carlson’s positions on issues such as illegal immigration and Big Tech censorship are similar to former President Trump’s.
“Jen O’Malley Dillon, who managed Biden’s campaign and now works as the White House deputy chief of staff, is overseeing the entire operation,” The Hill reported.
“The DNC’s opposition research program comes amid anticipation that Republicans could field a historically large primary crowd in 2024,” the news organization said.
An unofficial group has launched a website to organize support for Carlson.
“Carlson has expressed no desire to launch a presidential campaign, but we believe this lack of interest is rooted more in humility than in a genuine lack of willingness to lead our nation,” carlson2024.com states.
