Biden Administration is Building More Border Detention Facilities

The expansion of the detention facilities is a tacit acknowledgment that immigrants will continue to surge at the border.

President Joe Biden’s policies have encouraged a surge of illegal migrants at the border, and his administration officials’ latest move has signaled they expect the surge to continue.

“Construction is set to begin on temporary detention facilities at the Border Patrol’s Interstate 35 checkpoint and other locations in Laredo, Texas,” Randy Clark, a reporter for Breitbart and a former Border Patrol agent, wrote recently.

“The shelters are military-style general-purpose tents and can house 60 people per tent,” Clark said. “Plans for the climate-controlled structures, designed only for short-term detention, do not include funding for contract personnel to staff the facilities.”

The increase in capacity follows months of failure by the Biden-Harris team to secure the border and stop criminal migrants from entering the country.

The administration has generally encouraged immigrants to flood our border through the retraction of a number of Trump-era border security and immigration policies, though Harris recently told Guatemalans not to come to the U.S.

However, the administration has repeatedly refused to restore basic Trump-era policies that kept us safe, with a few exceptions.

Do you think we need a complete shutdown of immigration? Do you think we need swift punishment for illegal migrants? Let us know what you think!
