AOC said she is in therapy after being traumatized by January 6
The socialist New York Democrat said that she has faced “trauma” from a handful of Trump supporters who entered the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continues to make herself the victim, recently telling an interviewer that she has needed therapy after a handful of Trump supporters entered the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
One Trump supporter, Ashli Babbitt, was killed by an unidentified Capitol police officer.
“Ocasio-Cortez said members of Congress effectively ‘served in war’ during the traumatizing event that had ‘deeply affected lawmaking’ and impacted the legislative process,” the Independent reported, based on AOC’s interview with Latino USA.
She apparently was also in therapy during other times during President Trump’s time in office.
"Oh yeah, I’m doing therapy but also I’ve just slowed down. I think the Trump administration had a lot of us, especially Latino communities, in a very reactive mode,” AOC said.
She has previously come under fire for exaggerating the threat she faced on January 6.
“Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is facing criticism over initial claims she made about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, with many noting that she wasn't even in the Capitol when it occurred,” Fox News reported on February 3.
“The controversy erupted after the New York congresswoman posted a video in which she described a confrontation with Capitol Police at her office, which is located on the larger Capitol complex,” Fox News reported. “But it is not in the Capitol itself — which includes the dome, the House, and the Senate — and was where many rioters stormed in and were seen breaking windows.
Her office is located in the Cannon building, which is accessible through underground tunnels connected to the Capitol as well as via a short stroll down a walkway and across the street.”
She had accused Senator Ted Cruz of almost having her “murdered” because the Texas Republican had objected to the Electoral College vote.
Oddly, she made the statement after Cruz had offered to team up with AOC to investigate Robinhood, a popular stock trading app that had frozen some trading.
Although she said she worried about being murdered, she recently voted “present” on legislation to spend nearly $2 billion on increased security, curiously because it seems like she opposed funding the police further.
