REPORT: Biden's CIA Nominee Was President Of Think Tank That Allegedly Took Millions From CCP-Tied Groups
According to a report by the Daily Caller, Joe Biden’s pick for CIA director William Burns was the president of a think tank that accepted millions of dollars from Chinese Communist Party (CCP) linked entities.
“As president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Burns also invited nearly a dozen congressional staffers to attend a junket to China, where they met with a communist party operative and a president of a Chinese front group,” reported the Caller. “Burns, who was paid $540,580 last year as president of Carnegie, will appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee for a confirmation hearing likely to be held this month.”
Burns also invited Zhang Yichen, CEO of CITC Consulting, to Carnegie Endowment's board of trustees. According to the report, “Zhang is a member of two organizations linked to the Chinese Communist Party, according to his biography at CITIC Capital: the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Center for China and Globalization.”
The Carnegie Endowment also received funding from the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF). According to the report, “CUSEF is ‘a major player in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s organizational apparatus for conducting united front work in the United States.’”
Despite promising to be tough on China, President Biden has continued to take steps during the first month of his administration that suggest otherwise.
