WATCH: Armed Marine Veteran Saves The Day, Stops Rape Suspect from Escaping in Act of Heroism

An armed Marine veteran was shopping at a nearby store when he heard a scream and stopped a rape suspect from fleeing until police were able to arrive.

As leftists push to disarm law-abiding citizens, a black Marine recently used his firearm to stop a rape suspect from fleeing the scene of a crime until the police arrived and could arrest the suspect, Gregory Hathorne.

“It made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck because it wasn’t a normal yell,” Damian Austin, the Marine told local news station KFOR. He heard a woman yell that someone had just been raped.

Austin quickly moved to intercept Hathorne, who is being accused of raping a woman in the a local grocery store.

“It’s the kind of situation that would cause many to run in the other direction, but not Austin. The former Marine chased Hathorne through the parking lot and ended up in the back of the nearby Ace Hardware store,” KFOR noted.

Former Marine, Damian Austin, detained alleged rapist and held him at gunpoint.

Austin and other citizens surround the alleged rapist until the cops came to arrest Hathorne. A female citizen bought zip ties and Austin tied him.

“I immediately thought, ‘my wife shops here, I have friends whose wives shop here, my son works here,'” Austin said. “So it was just about not letting this person get away after he did what he did.”
