Iran’s foreign minister is claiming John Kerry informed him about Israel’s covert ops in Syria
Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed recently in leaked audio that John Kerry informed him of more than 200 Israeli operations in Syria.
This is not the first time Secretary John Kerry has been accused of colluding with Iranian leaders against the United States’ best ally in the Middle East, Israel.
Kerry was previously accused of colluding with Iranian leaders to undermine the Trump Administration in an effort to keep the Obama-era Iran Deal alive.
John Kerry is now part of the National Security Council as the special presidential envoy for climate.
According to the leaked audio obtained by the New York Times, Kerry surprised Zarif by revealing that Israel had attacked Iranian targets more than 200 times.
Zarif also spoke about his lack of power compared to Ayatollah Ali Khameini and the immense damage caused by the killing of General Qassem Soleimani, an Iranian general killed by the Trump Administration of January 2020.
Zarif is being considered as a possible candidate for Iran's June 18 presidential election.
After the leak became public information, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh did not dispute the tape's authenticity.
In addition, Khatibzadeh called for the release of the "illegal" recording and claimed it was "selectively" edited. Zarif, visiting Iraq on Monday after a trip to Qatar, took no questions from journalists after giving a brief statement. It is unknown how the tape was leaked.
Do you think John Kerry is guilty? What should the punishment (if any) be to Kerry if the leaked tapes are true? Should Biden remove John Kerry from his National Security Council? Comment your thoughts below!
