Detroit residents want more cops, overwhelmingly reject ‘Defunding the Police’
While liberal politicians in DC push to defund the police, real people in crime-plagued Detroit want more cops on the streets.
Residents of Detroit, mostly black by the way, want to see more law enforcement officers on the streets to stop violent criminals.
It stands in opposition to the far-left agenda of people like AOC and the rest of “the Squad” who want to disarm and defund the cops and let social workers handle crime.
USA Today reported:
Amid a jump in violent crime in this and other cities nationwide, Detroit residents report being much more worried about public safety than about police misconduct, a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University/Detroit Free Press Poll finds.
The left-wing publication further found:
By an overwhelming 9-1, they would feel safer with more cops on the street, not fewer. Though one-third complain that Detroit police use force when it isn't necessary – and Black men report high rates of racial profiling – those surveyed reject by 3-1 the slogan of some progressives to "defund the police."
This news is not good for anti-police liberals, who want to take our brave men and women in law enforcement off the streets.
Meanwhile, many of these same radical socialist politicians spend tens of thousands of dollars on private armed security to protect themselves.
