Fox Business Cancels Lou Dobbs, Trump Pledges to Stick With Dobbs

Fox Business swiftly canceled Lou Dobbs Tonight, its highest rated show, and one of the premier pro-Trump shows left on Cable News Television.

The cancellation of the popular and long-time Fox Business Host, Lou Dobbs, comes immediately following the voting software company Smartmatic filed a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox Corporation, specifically naming 3 of their anchors in the suit, Lou Dobbs, Jeanine Pirro and Maria Bartiromo.

It’s not exactly clear why Dobbs’ show was cancelled. Some reports have surfaced claiming Dobbs was allegedly “causing trouble” for Fox Business even before the lawsuit, even with his high ratings, reports claim that his reporting about 2020 election fraud was scaring off advertisers.

Fox claimed the cancellation was part of their planned changes, the statement is shared below:

‘As we said in October, Fox News Media regularly considers programming changes and plans have been in place to launch new formats as appropriate post-election, including on Fox Business — this is part of those planned changes, a new 5 p.m. program will be announced in the near future.”

President Trump voiced support for the Fox Business host via a statement released through Women for Trump Co-Founder Amy Kremer’s official Twitter account.

Former President Trump stated that, “Lou Dobbs is and was great. Nobody loves America more than Lou. He had a large and loyal following that will be watching closely for his next move, and that following includes me.”
