Cancel Culture Takes Aim at Billie Eilish as Singer is Accused of Racism.
The left-wing singer is a major supporter of Black Lives Matter and a vocal opponent of Donald Trump.
Left-wing singer Billie Eilish has taken a knee in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and has bashed former President Donald Trump.
But she is now dealing with a controversy of her own, as a video circulated of Eilish using derogatory terms for Asians and making mocking statements in Tik-Tok videos.
She also is being accused of racism for dating someone who once made comments that social media users deemed “homophobic” and “racist.”
“Matthew Tyler Vorce, an aspiring actor, has apologized for using ‘hurtful’ and ‘irresponsible’ language, but he didn’t elaborate on the nature of the slurs in a message posted to Instagram stories, according to multiple reports,” Breitbart reported. Vorce is a supporter of President Joe Biden, like his girlfriend.
“Screenshots of old posts show Vorce using the n-word for black people and the f-word for gay people. He also made disparaging remarks about pop star Adele, describing her as ‘British Miss Piggy’ in a tweet from 2012,” Breitbart reported.
It comes as Eilish faces backlash for her own videos from when she was 14. Eilish is 19-years-old.
“Billie Eilish has come under fire over an allegedly resurfaced TikTok video, in which the 19-year-old singer appears to mock several ethnic accents and utter the Asian slur ‘c - - - k,’” the New York Post reported. “TikTok user @lcxvy posted the inflammatory clip on the platform Monday, and it had racked up 1 million views as of Thursday morning.”
Eilish has previously shown her full support for Black Lives Matter and has bashed Trump for racism, a criticism that potentially rings hollow now for many, in light of the developing reports.
“Donald Trump is destroying our country and everything we care about. We need leaders who will solve problems like climate change and COVID, not deny them. Leaders who will fight against systemic racism and inequality,” Fox News reported in 2020, writing about Eilish’s speech at the Democratic National convention.
