Parler CEO John Matze Says He's Been Fired By Company Board

According to a memo obtained by Fox News, Parler CEO John Matze told staffers on January 29 that he had been fired by the company board and will be forced to step down from his role.

“The Parler board controlled by Rebekah Mercer decided to immediately terminate my position as CEO of Parler. I did not participate in this decision,” wrote Matze.

Matze also said “I’ve met constant resistance to my product vision, my strong belief in free speech and my view of how the Parler site should be managed.”

Parler fell under attack by big tech companies such as Google, Amazon, and Apple after the Capitol protests on January 6. The big hit to the company came after Amazon refused to host the platform on their web services, rendering the app unusable.

“I have worked endless hours and fought constant battles to get the Parler site running but at this point, the future of Parler is no longer in my hands,” said Matze after Parler was suspended from Amazon Web Services.

It is unclear when the app is expected to go back online.
