Parler Announces Plans to Sue Amazon After Being Taken Offline

Due to Amazon taking Parler off its web service which caused the social media app to go offline, Parler announced that they plan to sue Amazon for a variety of breaches including antitrust violations and unlawful business practices.

Amazon announced the reason they took Parler offline was due to the app not having a method of filtering posts which contain threats and calls for violence. Parler’s CEO John Matze claimed he denounces all forms of violence in light of Amazon’s actions.

Fox News’ breaking coverage of the lawsuit is embedded below:

Parler CEO John Matze joined Fox News ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the issues Parler is facing, the interview is shared below:

"Parler is not a surveillance app, so we can't just write a few algorithms that will quickly locate 100% of objectionable content, especially during periods of rapid growth,” said Matze.

"I'm not interested in seeing our platform or any other platform frankly used as a tool for violence and spreading violence… We would never condone it, we have a lot of things in place to stop it,” Matze concluded.
