Elon Musk Says He Has Moved From California to Texas

Tesla and SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk has announced that he has moved to Texas after several months of legal battles with the California government over COVID-19 regulations.

Business Insider reported that after several months of threats to move, the genius tech CEO made it official by taking his talents to Texas after dealing with the intrusive California government and their restrictions on the operation of his Tesla production facility.

During an interview with the Wall Street Journal’s paper’s editor-in-chief Matt Murray Musk told him that he moved to Texas.

“For myself, yes, I have moved to Texas. We’ve got the Starship development here in South Texas where I am right now. We’re hopefully going to do a launch later today. And then we’ve got big factory developments just outside of Austin for Giga Texas.”

Musk’s move from California coincides with the implementation of coronavirus restrictions in California which forced Tesla to temporarily close its only U.S. car factory the San Francisco area.

Musk promised to move the Tesla HQ and programs to Nevada and Texas in May over Twitter, “Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately.”

Texas’ no state income tax policy is also an incentive for Musk to move, especially compared to California which has one of the highest income taxes in the country.
