Ebay Removing Listings of Six “Offensive” Dr. Seuss Books

One of the world’s largest online retailers, Ebay, is banning several Dr. Seuss books that have now been deemed offensive from being sold on their platform.

Ebay announced that it would no longer be allowing sellers to list the six books that Seuss Enterprises pulled from publication earlier in the week

The six publications being banned from re-sale on Ebay are listed below:

  • And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street

  • If I Ran the Zoo

  • McElligot’s Pool

  • On Beyond Zebra!

  • Scrambled Eggs Super!

  • The Cat’s Quizzer

"At eBay, we have a strict policy against hate and discrimination to ensure our platform remains a safe, trusted and inclusive environment for our global community of buyers and sellers," eBay’s Parmita Choudhury said.

"We're currently sweeping our marketplace to remove these items. It can take some time to review all existing listings and provide education to impacted users. We're also monitoring the newly published list to be reviewed."

Universal Studios announced Wednesday that they would no longer be selling the six banned books in their gift shops and would be re-evaluating parts of their Seuss themed park.
