WATCH: Senator John Kennedy Grills Biden Nomination Neera Tanden On Her Old Offensive Tweets
Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) grilled President Biden’s nomination Neera Tanden for the Office and Management and Budget (OMB) about controversial tweets made over the last several years on Wednesday.
Louisiana Senator John Kennedy criticized Neera Tanden over past provocative tweets about several GOP officials and Senator Bernie Sanders. Tanden recently deleted over 1,000 tweets from her account.
Tanden even tweeted that Senator Bernie Sanders’ was “Russia’s Choice” in 2016. Kennedy accused Tanden of calling Sanders everything but an “ignorant slut.”

“I’m very disturbed about your personal comments about people. It’s not just one or two, I think you deleted a thousand tweets. And it wasn’t just about Republicans,” Senator Kennedy said.
Senator John Kennedy’s “ignorant slut” remark appeared to be inspired by the 1970s SNL “60 Minutes” segment with Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin.

The Senate is divided 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans, Bernie Sanders’ vote is needed to confirm Tanden assuming all 50 GOP Senators voted against her confirmation (which is unlikely).
