WATCH: Biden National Security Advisor doesn’t rule out giving aid to the Taliban

The administration has empowered the Islamic terrorist group and let billions of dollars of weapons fall into their hands.

President Joe Biden’s failed pullout from Afghanistan may get even worse, as his national security adviser remained open to sending money to the Taliban.

“[National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan] said the administration intended to continue humanitarian assistance in the form of food and medical aid, and that it was considering its ‘economic and development assistance relationship with the Taliban,’” Mediaite reported based on a Tuesday ABC News interview.

He refused to fully rule out the possibility:

It will be about whether they follow through on their commitments, their commitments to safe passage for Americans and Afghan allies, their commitment to not allow Afghanistan to be a base from which terrorists can attack the United States or any other country, their commitments with respect to upholding the entrance international obligations. It’s going to be up to them. And we will wait and see by their actions how we end up responding in terms of the economic and development assistance.

The media has reported that the Taliban have enriched and armed themselves with supplies bought with taxpayer dollars.

“As the Taliban took province by province in Afghanistan over recent months, fears have mounted that the Taliban could find itself in possession of some $85 billion worth of military equipment provided to Afghan forces over the past two decades,” Newsweek reported. “For some, the worst appeared to be realized as Taliban fighters were seen capturing and then later operating Black Hawk helicopters.”

However defense officials downplayed the ability of the Taliban to operate some of the equipment.
