Texas Bar Owner Kicks Couple Out Of Restaurant for Refusing to Take Off Masks

Masks can make it difficult to breathe and pose a liability for restaurants, as it can be difficult to see if someone is choking. Furthermore, it can make it hard for employees with some disabilities to communicate with people.

A Texas couple was asked to leave a bar after wearing masks, despite the bar’s no mask policy.

The couple is fully-vaccinated but said they were wearing masks to protect their immunocompromised baby.

However, masks do not provide protection for the people wearing them -- the purpose, which is scientifically questionable, is to stop people from transmitting COVID to others.

While some may view this policy as silly, consider that for many people, facial expressions help us understand what people are saying.

Additionally, the bar could face legal problems if someone choked but it was hard to notice until it was too late because the mask obscured their face.

The couple was informed of the rule when entering but appeared to have willingly violated the policy.
