REPORT: Bernie Sanders Demands King Size Beds & 60 Degree Rooms While Traveling

Bernie Sanders lives as a millionaire with three homes and enjoys living like a king, according to a new book about Democratic politicians.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., made frequent use of charter flights and laid out highly specific demands to staffers regarding his air travel and hotel accommodations while running for president,” Fox News reported, based on a new book called “"Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats' Campaigns to Defeat Trump,” by Edward-Isaac Dovere.

The “Senator Comfort Memo” from his staff “detailed one incident in which Sanders allegedly shamed a hotel worker who couldn’t get his room to his preferred temperature,” Fox News reported.

While he would give his aides the nicer rooms, “he liked suites, and he liked bathtubs, and he insisted on a king-size bed, which had to have a down comforter or another blanket in the closet. He preferred that the extra blanket be dark blue, and made of cotton,” Dovere wrote in his book.

"The temperature in the room had to be kept at 60, even if that required having a staffer sit in the room with an open window in the winter to make sure it cooled enough or calling management in to override the system," Dovere wrote.

"There was no bending the rules: once on a stop in California, annoyed that his aides couldn’t get the temperature below 65, he had them call the woman from the front desk up to change the thermostat while he sat on the bed, watching,” Dovere said.

The new book betrays Sanders’ man of the people, down-to-earth image he has tried to carefully craft.

In reality, Sanders has lately taken to talking down to average Americans. When asked about the potential hypocrisy in criticizing wealthy people while making millions for selling books, one of which was just a reprint of speeches he gave as a Senator, Sanders suggested that people just write good books like he did.

"If you write a best-selling book, you can be a millionaire, too,” Sanders told the New York Times in 2019, while the socialist was criticizing Trump’s tax returns and wealth.

President Trump has written a number of books, but his wealth primarily came from real estate investing and delivering high-quality clothes and golf courses and hotels.

And unlike Sanders, whose books push his anti-wealth and socialistic messaging, Trump is outright in that his books give advice on how to make money and be successful in business.
