REPORT: President Trump Considering Appointing Sidney Powell To Special Counsel
The New York Times reported Saturday that President Trump reportedly discussed the possibility of making Sidney Powell as a special counsel to investigate voter fraud allegations.
According to the NYT report, multiple members of the Trump administration expressed concerns about Powell and appointing her, including Trump's personal lawyer Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
"It was unclear if Mr. Trump will move ahead with such a plan," The New York Times stated.
The announcement comes as a surprise given the fact that the Trump legal team publicly distanced themselves from Powell in November stating that Powell had been, “practicing law on her own.”
With time certainly being in incredibly short supply, if President Trump were to make a move it would have to come soon. Only time will tell if anything comes from the alleged Oval Office meeting.
One thing is for sure, if Powell were to be appointed, the move would be harshly criticized by the President’s critics and even some of his supporters.
