Maskless Republican staffers buck Pelosi’s mask edict in Capitol building

Speaker Pelosi’s order was not well-received by the young Republican Congressional staffers and lovers of freedom.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Capitol Police want to force American citizens to wear masks inside any Congressional building.

But Republican staffers (or summer interns) were having none of it, and decided to party instead, leading one staffer for a Democrat to take to Twitter to complain.

“A group of unmasked Republican staffers are playing beer pong (but with cups of water) in the halls of Rayburn House Office Building,” Aaron Fritschner, a comms director for Virginia Democrat Don Beyer, tweeted last night. “Presumably their need to demonstrate the exercise of ‘freedoms’ is stronger than their sense of responsibility to justify taxpayer-funded salaries.”

“Hard to show the full scope because it’s a tight space and there are a bunch of people, but it’s about a hundred staff crammed together in a narrow hallway on second floor of Rayburn, almost all unmasked. They’re playing water pong, they have corn hole, I even smelled a cigar,” Fritschner complained.

Many people took to Twitter to poke fun at the liberal Congressional staffer.

“You are the officious hall monitor we all remember. Why be such a pill?,” Christina Sommers tweeted.

“This would actually be a comparatively responsible use of taxpayer dollars,” another person tweeted.
