6 GOP Senators Vote in Favor of Forming January 6th Commission, Fails to Reach 60 Vote Threshold

Senate Republicans killed a commission that would have investigated unrest in DC on January 6.

Nancy Pelosi’s dream to create a commission to investigate the events of January 6 was killed, despite the help of 6 liberal Republicans who crossed over to vote with Democrats on the House legislation.

The legislation would “establish the National Commission to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol Complex, and for other purposes.”

The media narrative on the events has begun to fall apart, as the media repeatedly pushed the fake narrative that a police officer died as the result of the events of that day -- in fact he died later of a stroke.

The only person killed that day was Air Force veteran, Ashli Babbitt, who was killed by a federal police officer.

There are already hundreds of law enforcement investigations into the events of the day, and many Republicans feared Democrats and liberal Republicans would weaponize the commission to tarnish President Trump and his supporters.

For example, recently deposed Congresswoman Liz Cheney previously said she supported the commission’s investigations, as long as it did not look at BLM or ANTIFA’s possible roles, raising questions of how fair the investigation would be.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell previously said the commission would be “slanted and unbalanced” and noted “there will continue to be, no shortage of robust investigations by two separate branches of the federal government,” according to The Daily Caller.

11 Senators didn’t even bother to show up for the vote as it was a foregone conclusion.

Do you think we should investigate what happened on January 6? Do you trust Democrats to treat what happened fairly? Share your thoughts below!
