‘I Used to Have to Tell People I Was a Bartender,’ NYPD Officer Leaves New York for Florida

DeSantis said he wants to give bonuses to police officers who move to the state.

The anti-police attitude and policies in New York led a NYPD cop to move to Florida.

“On Tuesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) held a press conference to announce a proposal to give $5,000 signing bonuses to new law enforcement officers in his state – and to introduce officers who have relocated to Florida from other states where police have been vilified and defunded,” CNS News reported.

Spoto said he was surprised to learn that he could park his cop car in front of his new house in Florida, something he could not do in NYC due to the hostility towards cops.

“I used to have to lie about what I used to do. I used to have to tell people I was, like, a bartender because it was almost like I was ashamed to be a law enforcement officer,” Spoto said.
