Eric Clapton says he will NOT play shows where proof of vaccination is required

The legendary UK musician, Eric Clapton, issued the statement after Prime Minister Boris Johnson said vaccine passes would be required at clubs and venues.

Eric Clapton said he will not perform at any venues that require attendees to prove that they’ve been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Clapton released his statement in response to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s announcement that vaccine passes would be required to enter nightclubs and venues.

Clapton’s statement was shared via the ‘Telegram’ account of film producer Robin Monotti.

“Following the PM’s announcement on Monday the 19th of July 2021 I feel honor-bound to make an announcement of my own, I wish to say that I will not perform on any stage where there is a discriminated audience present. Unless there is provision made for all people to attend, I reserve the right to cancel the show.”

The message was accompanied by a link to Clapton’s anti-lockdown song featuring legendary rock band Van Morrison, “Stand and Deliver.”

According to Eric Clapton’s website, the legend’s next performances in the United Kingdom won’t be taking place until May 2022, when there are two dates on the books at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Clapton has several North American concerts scheduled for this September.
